Last night (12/12/08) I went to a psychic fair at a local spiritualist church. Well the experience was definately different. We arrived at 7.30 and after a bit of trepidation we left the car and went in - to say the area was rough is an understatement. So in we go to be greeted by a smoking guy in a Santa hat (we later learnt he was the head of the church
) I booked in for a tarot reading and an aura photograph which cost £20 for the two.
The Tarot reading.
Oh dear me, what a load of rubbish. I would say about 90% of what she said was complete and utter trash. Below are a few examples:
Her: Congratulations this card means a baby on the way!
Me: U’mm I can’t actually have children
Her: Oh well maybe its adoption or a friend or family member
Me: Nope!
Her: You have connections with either Kent or Cornwall (I wonder if she was picking up on my accent?)
Me: No, not at all
Her: Are you sure
Me: The only people I know down there are in Brighton
Her: That’s it then Brighton’s near Kent
Her: You never got over your past love and scare off new lovers by being too full on
Me: I’ve never been in love and have been single for the past few years and am most defiantly not a slut!
Her: Your very involved in music
Me: No, can’t even play a recorder
Her: But I see you playing the drums
Me: Nope not going to happen
There were plenty more such as a family member will die and I will inherit lots of money but then spend it all!
The Aura Photo.
This is something I’ve wanted to try for a while but after the Tarot disaster I was a little dubious. To start I sat facing a laptop with a built in camera and then placed my left hand on a reader thing! Immediately my aura appeared on the screen around an image of my head. It was orangey in colour and changed to different shades. Here’s where it gets a little spooky: The gentleman doing the picture looked at me and said :
Him: You’re here with someone.
Me: My mum’s sat over there.
Him: No dear that’s not what I meant.
Me: Oh, you mean a spirit?
Him: Yes, its quite unusual and very nice to see.
He then showed me on the screen a white outline behind me on my left, this was my spirit guide, also on my right was a black smudge, my guardian angel.
Next we looked at my chakras, again a little weird as he picked up on a medical problem I have which there is no way he could have known. He also said my third eye was very open and asked if I ‘saw things’. Apparently my yin and yang is perfectly balanced and I am emotionally tired and in need of a break!
All in all it was a fun evening, more for entertainment than spiritual growth and I definately don’t think I will be going there again.

What on earth is a "spiritualist church" - I've never heard of one of those.
Sounds like you had a fun evening though, so that's good. As for the tarot readers, they normally go for clues in the person and since you were not giving much away, you didn't get much back. My granny used to go to a tarot reader regularly and she loved it and got loads from it, but then they used to chat like old mates during it.
